What is an Executive Coach?

An Executive Coach often partners with C-Suite Executives or Vice-Presidents to aid in the process of optimizing their functionality in their leadership and/or management role as well as more effectively and efficiently managing in today’s ever-changing workplace environment. An Executive Coach partners to support leaders to enhance their effectiveness and their organization as a whole. Executive Coaches act as an unbiased sounding board, listening when partnering with an Executive who for example is working through decisions and/or wanting to grow personally by guiding and supporting Executives to becoming more aware of how to reach their decisions, develop their own solutions, and achieve their goals. 

 

As an Executive, you are already considered an exceptional performer, and partnering with an Executive Coach will aid in the process of honing your skills; identifying areas of improvement for optimization; and discovering any hidden blind spots as well as revealing critical data and feedback others may be otherwise uncomfortable openly and candidly sharing. An Executive Coach can also provide coaching expertise associated with scale. For example, if you go from leading/managing five people to 100, or from 500 to 5,000, it is critical that you shift the way you lead/manage, how you manage your time, how you delegate, etc.

What is a Leadership Coaching?

Organizational leaders typically have the operational and technical backgrounds, knowledgebase, and resources to achieve their goals and contribute to the overall success of the organization which over the years has contributed to their career progression. A lot of these leaders find themselves in the position where they feel stuck and/or feel they could be having more of an impact. They struggle to (a) identify the root cause of their inability to engage and influence others particularly those individuals they have no direct authority over and (b) to address and overcome how others perceive them. 

 

As with Executive Coaching, Leadership Coaching is a developmental and transformational process that provides leaders with a safe space to learn, grow, and enhance their collaboration and communication skills as well as gain greater awareness to become more inspiring and impactful, and influential as a leader. Leadership Coaches guide and support leaders through the process of identifying problems, finding their own solutions – the right solution – in the most authentic way! The role of the coach is to assist leaders in determining and removing any obstacles by showing up, being present, asking powerful and meaningful questions, and actively and intensely listening.
